Beautiful Doljanchi (1st birthday party) for little E!
A first birthday or “Dohl” is a big deal in Korean culture. It celebrates the baby meeting the big milestone of turning one, but it also recognizes the hard work, love, and growth that the parents have gone through for the past year. During a Dohl, the child chooses an item from a collection of items symbolizing careers and hopes for the future (“doljabi”). It’s always fun to see what the baby chooses!
Little E's Doljanchi at Archer Hotel Tysons was so beautiful and filled with so much fun for families and friends. The beautiful dohl sang (decorated table) was by Hana Dohl Set. Little E and her big brother wore traditional Korean clothes, hanbok, and looked so cute! Little E also thoughtfully picked her item for her doljabi and had a blast digging into her cake for the cake smash.
A big happy birthday to Little E! I am so honored that I was able to capture such a meaningful episode of her life!
